NEWS -
Recording has commenced on The Big Mechanical Bull's first full length CD after 9 years of being a band. (We didn't want to rush things). Check out this PhotoBucket-thingy photo-documentary
of the recording process.
Also to begin soon is the recording of a full length by Unsent Letters (at Jerk of course).
More on that as it develops.
Finally, in a move to provide "easy to get at" mp3 samples, JerkRecords has set up shop in amongst all the junior highers over at MySpace with a page containing tunes from our latest releases. That whole world frighens and confuses me, but we can stream our tunes for free.
****ATTENTION***
The message boards are back online... but all the old posts and users have been trashed.
Good Going Pete. So, you need to re-register and start populating those things with
mindless blather again. Better Get Going.
No, you are not dreaming;
this is a new Jerkrecords Web Page. It's been a while, but we are back baby for our 10 year milemark.
This time around, there's more of the same madness you've come to expect from your favorite jersey
shore sub-indy record company. It's hard to belive we've been at this since 1994 and we're still not
out of my basement yet. Maybe next year.
First order of business is to extend a laurel, and hardy handshake to Jerk newcomers
Full Surrender to welcome them to our roster.
These boys hail from our neck-o-tha-woods and bring a very different and original sonic
ingredient to our already boiling and frothing black cauldron of rock. They combine the
raw sounds of acoustic guitars and hand drums with the aggression and intensity of hardcore.
It was only a matter of time before they were absorbed into the Jerk blob, and we are more than happy to be releasing their debut CD unto the screaming crowds that we are already chasing from the theaters.
Our studio now has a web site (imagine that) so you can scope out where some of the music gets made.
Browse the pics for shots of our spiffy gear with shiny knobs, lights and buttons. We also have a "for sale" section there where we try to rid ourselves once and for all of some of the crap that's been collecting down there in the last decade.
Along with our new young blood,
we have seasoned perenials Sketch and Unsent Letters working on new music and performing about the area, and The Big Mechanical Bull is now back in the saddle riding off into strange new territory.
We also will now be offering
all our releases (and then some) for sale on the Store page. We have the usual suspects up there now,
and will be adding some old classics and out of print junk in the near future. Check back often. Make sure you're signed up for PayPal too, as we're using that to handle getting money out of your hands and into ours.. Plenty of free stickers and
posters are available with each order, so get to it!
